The Journey Begins
Chad Campbell, a native of the Willamette Valley in western Oregon, was diagnosed with Stage IVB prostate cancer in September of 2021 at the age of 48.
He was given chemotherapy, participated in a clinical trial at the OHSU Knight Cancer Research Institute, and has been on a variety of anti-testosterone medications ever since.
From the beginning, he has maintained his daily routine running his business, serving in his beloved E-Rotary Club of Southern Scotland, traveled near & far, and maintained his 5AM / 6 Days-a-Week workouts.
Purpose & Connection
Despite the frustrations and challenges that come with metastatic cancer, Chad has embraced newfound connections around the world through the cancer community and through Rotary, and loves being helpful however he can.
Earth and Ocean exists to bring resources and inspiration to those affected by cancer, and to serve as a living example of a fellow patient meeting its challenges with courage; and shaping the experience into something worthy.

Iria Nishimura
Iria T. Nishimura, RN, MSN is a healthcare executive with 20+ years of experience in hospice and serious illness care—and a firm believer that mission-driven work should also be a little fun. As CEO of Willamette Vital Health, she leads a nonprofit team delivering hospice, dementia support, adult foster care, and grief services to the community.
Originally trained as a nurse, Iria has worked across both national and community-based organizations, founded a hospice program, and even served as a state surveyor—giving her a deep appreciation for quality care and smart systems that actually work.
She’s also been active in shaping healthcare policy in Oregon, helping advance legislation to strengthen hospice quality and oversight.
Outside of work, Iria is proud to support causes that matter—including prostate cancer research and education. While she fully supports the mission, she’ll admit her fundraising “training regimen” may not quite meet the official exercise requirements… but her enthusiasm more than makes up for it.
Milan Ondrej
DirectorMilan Ondrej
DirectorMilan Ondrej is a Slovak banking professional based in Bratislava. Born in 1966, he spent his formative years in the eastern part of Slovakia — an environment that helped shape his values, resilience, and perspective on life. He completed his secondary education at the Gymnasium in Stará Ľubovňa and later continued his studies at the University of Economics in Bratislava, where he graduated with a specialisation in International Trade. This academic background provided him with a strong foundation in economics, global commerce, and the broader dynamics of financial markets. Milan’s professional journey has been firmly rooted in the banking sector. Over the course of nearly four decades, he has held a variety of managerial positions across several banks in Slovakia, gaining extensive experience in leadership, financial services, client relationship management, and the long-term responsibilities that come with working in a highly regulated, trust-based industry. Banking has not only been his profession, but also a field in which he has built lasting expertise, discipline, and perspective. Beyond his professional life, Milan is deeply committed to sport and personal endurance. Having completed two marathons, he understands the value of perseverance, preparation, and mental strength — qualities he considers equally essential in business and in life. He also has a great affection for animals, sharing his life with three dogs and two cats, and finds balance and inspiration in nature, travel, and meaningful films. Like Chad, Milan is also a prostate cancer patient. This personal experience has given him a deeper appreciation of courage, vulnerability, and the importance of facing life’s challenges with dignity, honesty, and inner strength. His guiding motto is: “Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
